Features
Technology
Here are some reasons why this shoe may be appropriate for you:
Upper -
A lightweight and breathable open weave sandwich mesh wraps around your foot ensuring ventilation and comfort while a reinforced heel counter stabilises your foot. An added feature are the kinked laces ensuring that laces stay tied.
Interior -
This shoe features a wide 'Nav Band' which extends right around from the medial side through to the lateral aspect of the shoe. The 'Nav Band' is an elastic conformable strap which wraps over your instep securing your midfoot and arch to the shoe ensuring you receive support without restricting the natural motion of your foot.
Midsole -
Upon a new low profile anatomical last Brooks have combined BioMoGo and DNA into one compound to provide you with a midsole material that is adaptive and responsive to the specific needs of each wearer ensuring protection and impact dispersion. This shoe features an 'ideal heel' which aligns the foot more centrally and encourages the initial contact point of the gait cycle forward, resulting in less impact on your joints and increased energy return while a lateral strike pod combined with a minimal internal support system aids in providing a more stable transition from heel to toe. Adding lightness and also resulting in increased flexibility of the shoe is the toe flex feature, the splitting of and strategic removal of a portion of the toe box which allows the big toe to function independently and creates a more efficient toe off
Outsole -
Understanding the need for flexibility Brooks use their Omega Flex Grooves in the outsole of this shoe. These grooves are rigid when stationary yet dynamic while you are running providing maximum flexibility allowing your foot to move naturally
The Toe Flex is designed to better isolate the first ray (big toe) empowering it to help the foot resupinate, creating a more efficient and aligned toe-off. The PureProject™ shoes are approximately 25–30% more flexible when compared to a standard running shoe
The Nav Band is designed to enhance the fit and feel of the shoe. This elastic band will accommodate different foot shapes and create a comfortable, assured arch fit for the runner. All runners have some degree of arch collapse while they run. The Nav Band provides a snug, comfortable fit and lets the foot move naturally
BioMoGo DNA is a blended version of Brooks BioMoGo and Brooks® DNA technologies giving the entire midsole adaptive properties. With each foot strike, the BioMoGo DNA tunes the cushioning and responsiveness to the specific needs of each and every runner.
A new anatomical last was created for the PureProject™ shoes. The last mimics the shape of the foot and is visually apparent. The shoe is longest at the big toe and tapers down to the smallest toe. This new last gets down to basics and minimizes the use of material to enhance the feel of the run. Matching the runner¡¦s anatomy will provide a more natural and comfortable fit, and allow the shoe and foot to work as a single unit.
Omega flex groove design offers a greater circumference for more dynamic flexibility
Tuned Density Midsoles customises the softness of the midsole material to be suitable for individual runners needs.
The Ideal Heel is an innovation that shifts the ground contact point forward. The runner lands with more ground clearance right under the middle of the heel rather than on an edge behind the center of the heel. This lets force vectors travel closer to joint centers and decreases lever arms and moments, leading to reduced internal stress and enhanced performance
Placed within the core of the midsole, the internal PDRB has a softer density and wedge-like shape that runs the length of the shoe. Working together, the firmer, outer midsole acts as guiderails that encourage the foot in a balanced, forward path while the softer, wedge-shaped internal PDRB promotes a stable transition.
