The Athlete's Foot is Australia's leading and most successful athletic footwear retailer. The Athlete's Foot began operating in Australia in 1976, after acquiring the licence for Australia from the American founder.  In 1986 the founding Managing Director of The Athlete's Foot Australia Pty Ltd, Dave Cooper, pioneered the footwear only concept. This was to become the cornerstone of our growth and market positioning strategy.

In 2004 The Athlete's Foot was acquired by RCG Corporation Limited, a company listed on the ASX. RCG is an investment holding company whose board members have substantial track records in retailing, franchising, retail brand development, business development and financial management.

Today The Athlete's Foot Australia operates in excess of 140 stores across Australia and NZ, of which more than 95% are franchised. The Athlete's Foot is the unequivocal leader in technical performance footwear in this region and is the largest retailer of athletic footwear in Australia.

As a result of our service, fitting and technical expertise, we have developed a retail brand that stands out from, and in front of, the footwear brands that we sell. A high focus on store consistency and staff training, reinforced with a clear and consistent marketing message over a number of years has resulted in The Athlete's Foot becoming a nationally recognised brand and a household name.
